At Winners Recruitment we pride ourselves on building great relationships not only with our clients but also with our fantastic candidates as well. As a new, reoccurring conversation we are asking sections of our candidates why and how they got into their roles.
Last week we reached out to our talented Chefs around Cornwall asking “Why Did You Become A Chef?” The response we had was unbelievable with some amazing stories that we felt needed to be shared.
“Well from a young age I was always interested in food, I became fascinated by flavour and different types of ingredients I became a chef to expand my knowledge and learned to become a chef from the bottom up, I now own and run my own business and want to share the food experience with others.”
“Simple, I had a naff day in the office so took myself out for dinner after work. I loved the food so asked for the Head Chef, then asked him to train me! I had no idea who Paul Ainsworth was until that day”
“I became a chef because of my family (mom) making fresh bread .pasta .sauces etc at a young age .the love of food .flavours.now professional you can specialise in what u do.be creative. make customers happy.never a dull moment .varied hrs and no suit and tie.”
“I always loved to cook and my mother loved to bake, I always loved making others happy and why not do it with something I love doing myself and so glad I did had some of the best days of my life in kitchens would do it all again it’s like having a 2nd family”
This was just a small number of the great responses we have had doing this and the popularity of it has meant that this will now be continued each week to hopefully inspire others to get involved and build a community around it.
