JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Multi Skilled Engineer Position Reports To: Engineering Manager Position OverviewWinners Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Team Member to join a busy and fast-paced production environment in Cornwall.The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of production and site equipment across both manufacturing and non-production areas. This role will involve planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, contractor management, and supporting ongoing engineering improvements across site operations.A strong focus on Health & Safety, compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement is essential.Key Responsibilities Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, engineering standards, and site quality procedures. Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs across production and operational equipment. Support contractor management activities including reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements, issuing Permits to Work, and conducting contractor inductions. Assist with fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems across site. Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical instructions, and specifications with minimal supervision. Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reliability. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Assist in ensuring all equipment remains compliant with current legislation and operational standards. Work collaboratively with production and operational teams to minimise downtime and support site performance. Working Pattern 4 on / 4 off shift pattern 12-hour shifts Rotating shifts: 2 Day Shifts 2 Night Shifts Skills & Experience Required Essential ONC or equivalent qualification within a relevant engineering discipline. Completed apprenticeship within Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, or production environments. Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across mechanical and/or electrical systems. Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team. Desirable HNC or equivalent engineering qualification. Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, brewing, packaging, or production environments. Knowledge of PLC systems and automated production equipment. Experience managing contractors and Permit to Work systems. 5+ years’ engineering experience. Key Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexible and proactive approach to maintenance and operational support. Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices. Additional InformationThe Engineering Team plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the entire site. The successful candidate will contribute directly to minimising downtime, supporting production performance, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring high operational standards are consistently achieved.
