Job Title: Accounts Assistant in Private PracticeWe have an excellent opportunity for a talented person to join our client’s friendly and enthusiastic team working in their Penzance office on the coast of beautiful Cornwall. The work is interesting, varied and very rewarding.This role will give you the opportunity to work with and advise a range of clients, including private clients, business owners and directors. Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for providing a high level of service to a broad portfolio of personal, sole trader, partnership and limited company clients. Responsibilities include: Accounts and tax return preparation Bookkeeping and VAT return preparation General assistance, advice, help and support to colleagues and clients Attending training courses Adhering to internal systems, processes, procedures, guidelines and standards Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm with 1 hour for lunch.About YouThe successful applicant will ideally have: GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English, Grade C / 4 or above 3 A Levels (or equivalent) with grade C or above AAT qualification (or equivalent) or working towards this qualification Experience working in a UK accounting practice Ability to work independently or as part of a team Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Knowledge and experience of accounting software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure Confidence, self-motivation, initiative and problem-solving skills Willingness to suggest new ideas and step outside of your comfort zone to grow and develop Ambition, hard work and passion for delivering excellent client service and contributing to the success of the team and firm What Our Client Offers Competitive salary 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) Full training and support Pension scheme Healthcare plan Paid professional subscriptions Wellbeing resources and support Life Assurance Scheme
